Le Raquet is a large-scale project spanning over 200 hectares at the heart of a suburban area, where three municipalities converge: Douai, Sin-le-Noble and Lambres-lez-Douai – an area of 67,000 inhabitants.
The project’s objective is to create, over 20 years, a new neighbourhood of around 3,500 dwellings ( 12,000 inhabitants). Despite a relatively low density of 20 dwellings per hectare, the planned implementation of sustainable development measures will turn Le Raquet into an exemplary new town neighbourhood designed in harmony with its environment.
As well as housing and vast areas of parks, the project includes a number of public amenities such as numerous parks, an aquatic centre, a school, a crèche and nursery, local public services, the extension of the tram network and a possible TGV (high-speed train) stop.
